What is a Banjo Fitting?

A banjo fitting is a hollow, circular fitting that allows fluid to flow through a bolt (the banjo bolt) into a port at 90° to the hose. This makes banjo fittings ideal for tight spaces where a conventional straight or angled hose end cannot be routed cleanly. They are widely used on brake caliper inlets, master cylinders, and brake reservoir connections where the port faces in a fixed direction and space is limited.

Assembly

Slide the ferrule onto the AN4 hose, insert the banjo hose end, and crimp or swage to complete the assembly. The ferrule is supplied with the fitting. A copper or aluminium sealing washer is required on each side of the banjo when fitting to the banjo bolt — not included.
