AN6 Hose & Fittings

AN6 is the most widely used hose size in motorsport fuel systems and lightweight oil lines. It has a 3/8" (9.5mm) internal bore and seals on a 37° JIC flare, which is what makes it hold pressure reliably under vibration. BRT Motorsport stocks 48 AN6 parts — hose, hose ends, adaptors, tees, bulkheads, banjo fittings and couplings — crimps fittings in-house, and builds hoses to length to your specification.

What size is AN6, and what fits it?

AN6 (also written -6, dash 6, or 6AN) has a 3/8" bore and a 9/16" x 18 UNF male thread. It is the standard choice for fuel feed and return on most engine swaps and track builds. If you need more flow, step up to AN8 or AN10; for brake and clutch lines, AN3 is the correct size. To step down from an AN8 port, use our AN8 female to AN6 male reducer at £5.60.

AN6 hose

  • AN6 PTFE stainless steel braided hose — smooth bore, 2,750 PSI operating / 7,000 PSI burst, £12.99 per metre. The PTFE liner is non-permeable, so fuel and oil vapour cannot pass through the hose wall — the correct choice for in-cabin or enclosed routing. Compatible with fuel (including E85 and VP Racing fuels), oil, coolant, methanol and nitrous.
  • AN6 PROGOLD convoluted PTFE hose — stainless steel braid, maximum flexibility and very lightweight, £32.15 per metre
  • AN6 polyester braid hose — ultra lightweight, 250 PSI maximum working pressure, £35.35 per metre
  • AN6 hose P clips — pack of 50, £2.15. For supporting and routing hose so it cannot chafe or vibrate against bodywork

Reusable or crimped hose ends?

This is the main decision when you order. Reusable ends can be undone and refitted, so a line can be re-made, shortened or re-routed without buying new fittings, and no crimping tool is needed — choose these if the routing may change or you are assembling the hose yourself. Crimped ends are permanently crimped onto the hose for a sealed one-piece assembly, so the length and fitting angles are fixed at the point of build. We crimp in-house, so you can order a finished hose rather than a box of parts.

  • Reusable PTFE JIC hose ends, black anodised aluminium, 37° JIC flare seat — straight £7.49, 45° and 90° £12.99, 120° and 180° £13.99. Five angles to suit any routing, from in-line runs to tight bulkhead exits.
  • ProGold crimped fittings — crimped in-house for a permanent sealed assembly, ferrule included. Female straight £18.99, 45° £25.90, 90° £27.15, compact 90° £39.65, 180° £43.25

Bulkhead fittings

For passing an AN6 line cleanly through a panel, firewall or floor without chafing.

Banjo adaptors and bolts

For attaching an AN6 hose to a banjo port where there is no room for an in-line fitting.

  • Banjo adaptors to AN6 — M10, M12, M14 and M16 at £7.68, M18 at £8.50, anodised alloy
  • Anodised alloy banjo bolts — M14 x 1.25, M14 x 1.5, M16 x 1.5 and M18 x 1.5, all £3.95

Copper sealing washers

Every banjo bolt needs two, one either side of the banjo. They are single-use — the seal is made by crushing the copper, so a reused washer is the usual cause of a weeping joint.

  • 10mm & 3/8" — £0.11 · M12 — £0.26 · 14mm — £0.30 · 16mm — £0.32 · 18mm — £0.36

Blanking plugs and caps

  • AN6 blanking plug — £2.05, seals an unused female AN6 port
  • AN6 blanking cap — £3.05, caps a male AN6 fitting or hose end
  • ORB6 plug — £3.29, black anodised alloy, 9/16" UNF with an O-ring. ORB (O-Ring Boss) is a different standard from AN6: it seals on an O-ring against a flat-bottomed port rather than on a 37° flare, so an ORB plug will not seal an AN6 flare fitting and vice versa. Check which your port is before ordering.

Quick connect and dry break couplings

  • AN6 quick release dry break coupling — £49.99, aluminium. Both halves seal as they separate, so a fuel or oil line can be disconnected and reconnected without draining the system or losing fluid. Rated for fuel, oil and E85.
  • OEM fuel line quick connects — AN6 to 5/16" female £7.04, AN6 to 3/8" female £7.04. These let an AN6 fitting attach directly to a factory fuel line or fuel rail, so you can run braided hose without cutting into the OE system.

Most orders are made up same or next working day. If you would rather assemble it yourself, we can send the hose and reusable ends as parts instead.
